Military Retirement Requests
The George W. Bush Presidential Library is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), a U.S. federal agency, and do not handle military retirement letters for President Bush. Those requests are handled by the Office of George W. Bush. Per the Bush Center's website, the Office of George W. Bush processes letters of appreciation for military members who have served a minimum of 20 years of service. They ask that you allow a minimum of 8 weeks for processing.
To request a military letter of appreciation, please fill out the electronic form.
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of requests received, they do not conduct individual status checks on these requests. Please email email@example.com if you have any questions regarding your letter request.
We thank you for your service to our country, and wish you the best in your future endeavors.
