“Along with the stunning wildflowers, the Native Texas Park on the grounds of the George W. Bush Presidential Center features Blackland Prairie grasses, tree-shaded lawns, and clearings that provide native habitats for butterflies, birds, and other species,” said Alan C. Lowe, director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. “This 15-acre urban park reflects the President and Mrs. Bush’s longstanding commitment to environmental conservation and restoration.”

Weather-permitting, the guided tours, held Thursdays and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., walk visitors through the one-mile network of trails on the Center’s grounds. Free with the purchase of Museum admission, space is limited and tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Special rates are available for groups. Call 214-346-1650 or email our Education Coordinator for reservations and pricing.

For visitors with time constraints, self-guided tours are free every day of the year, from sunrise to sunset. Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking the trails. Each season brings beautiful changes to the prairie landscape. Brochures and scavenger hunt materials for the Native Texas Park are available here. Located on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU), the Bush Center at 2943 SMU Boulevard off U.S. Highway 75 (North Central Expressway), is accessible via the Mockingbird Station stop of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) System using the Orange, Red, or Blue lines.
