The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum offers a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Due to the sensitive nature of Presidential materials, all volunteers must be at least 16 years of age; a U.S. Citizen or holder of a permanent resident card/A1 Diplomatic Visa; must successfully pass a background check; and sign a confidentiality agreement. Other requirements:

  • Make a 1 year commitment
  • Work up to 4.5 hours per week on a non-paid basis unless serving as a volunteer or docent substitute
  • Able to learn new skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs is a plus
  • For some duties, able to lift up to 50 pounds 
  • For some duties, able to stand for long periods of time and able to climb ladders
