The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum offers a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Due to the sensitive nature of Presidential materials, all volunteers must be at least 16 years of age; a U.S. Citizen or holder of a permanent resident card/A1 Diplomatic Visa; successfully pass a background check; and sign a confidentiality agreement. Other requirements:

  • Make a 1 year commitment
  • Work > 4.5 hours per week on a non-paid basis unless serving as a volunteer or docent substitute
  • Able to learn new skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs is a plus
  • For some duties, able to lift > 50 pounds 
  • For some duties, able to stand for long periods of time and climb ladders

Charter Docents 2017 lowrez

A group of Charter Docents gathered at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in the summer of 2017 for a special thank you by President George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush. These volunteers were part of the first orientation class on Jan. 17, 2013, and participated in the Bush Center dedication on Apr. 25, 2013.
